Beginning with the Lake Sonoma 50 which was held October 26, 1997, we donated the first of many to follow awards, called the "Fossil 55" which is awarded at each of the rides in which Gail competes. This award is for the highest placing rider age 55 and over. The only qualifications for this award are that the rider is 55 years of age or older and has a good sense of humor. The award is a wine and navy blue BioThane halter with a brass plate that is engraved, "Winner of the Fossil 55 Award."
